In terms of surprises, Capresso espresso machines have probably given me more than any other brands of espresso machines. An experienced shopper for espresso machines like me knows that the price tag is a strong indicator of quality, even if it is not the ultimate one. But the affordable Capresso models seem to be doing well.
If you ask me, I would recommend a Capresso espresso maker for entry level home users. They are easy to use and make a decent cup of coffee that can satisfy the budding enthusiast. And by the time the user grows into a senior enthusiast, the machine would have given back its worth and it would be time to upgrade to something higher end like a Gaggia Classic.
Capresso Steam Espresso Machine
Capresso 303.01 4-Cup Espresso and Cappuccino Machine
This Capresso espresso maker surprises me that it can get crema on the espresso if really fresh grounds are used. It’s only a steam driven espresso machine after all, but makes quite a decent cup of coffee. This machine is not difficult to use, but you’ll have to know that it requires coarser grounds and a loose tamp so that the coffee is not burnt. This espresso machine doesn’t need a lot of cleaning up or maintenance, but remember to give the steam wand a wipe after each use.
Capresso Semi Automatic Espresso Machine
Capresso 121.01 Ultima Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine
This Capresso espresso machine comes for an amazing price tag below $300. Why do I say that’s amazing? Because this machine does automatic tamping for you! This model is the closest to a super automatic you can get for this price, as most super automatics will cost over $1000.
Most users like this machine for the milk based coffee drinks it makes, but the crema-topped espresso is good enough too. This espresso machine does look a bit out of the ordinary, don’t you think?
